About

ABOUT

Vittorio Vaglienti is a guitarist, composer, and teacher. His work develops between musical performance and composition for images, in which the guitar represents one of the elements through which his sonic language takes shape.

His practice moves between timbral research, musical writing, and the relationship with visual narrative, with a contemporary approach oriented toward music for images.

Education and Artistic Activity

He studied at the Liceo Musicale Ego Bianchi in Cuneo and continued his training at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Turin, where he obtained both his First- and Second-Level Academic Diplomas in Guitar with top marks.

Over the years, he has taken part in masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians, including Álvaro Pierri, Kazuhito Yamashita, Antigoni Goni, and David Russell, and has performed in concerts and festivals in significant venues such as the Pantheon in Rome and the Teatro Regio in Turin.

Film Scoring and Music for Images

From a young age, he developed a strong interest in film music and in the relationship between sound and image. His first direct experience in this field came through the Music Lab at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, a key moment that oriented his path toward applied composition.

Following this experience, he deepened his studies in composition with Maestro Bruno Mosso, with whom he composed Suite del Migrante for small orchestra, in collaboration with the “Ghedini” Conservatory in Cuneo. At the same time, he expanded his training through seminars and masterclasses with leading figures in the field, including Nicola Piovani, Giuseppe Tornatore, Mauro Pagani, Pivio, Pasquale Catalano, and Federico Savina.

He later completed a Second-Level Master’s degree in Composition for Applied Music at the “F. Venezze” Conservatory in Rovigo, under the guidance of Marco Biscarini, Davide Stocco, Daniele Furlati, and Giuliano Taviani.

His path has been further consolidated through practical experience in film scoring, leading to the composition of soundtracks for short films. Among these, Le Altre Vite, directed by Nicolò Folin and selected for the 22nd edition of “Alice nella Città,” represents a significant outcome of his work in contemporary film scoring.

Teaching

Alongside his artistic activity, he is also engaged in teaching, carrying out educational work in parallel with his creative practice. Over time, he has worked in various educational contexts, developing an approach based on listening, technical progression, and awareness of musical language.

He is currently active in school settings as a guitar teacher in lower secondary music programs, for which he also composes original pieces specifically designed for educational purposes.
